Fyffes is weighing up the financial impact of a high court ruling in Ireland, which ordered the company to pay 80 per cent of the costs of DCC and all of its own, following the long-running court case between the two parties.
Fyffes' legal case against its former shareholder over alleged insider dealing failed late last year.
Now, Justice Mary Laffoy ruled that although Fyffes had brought the case and lost, DCC had to bear some of the cost for having unneccessarily prolonged the case.
"DCC is pleased to announce that it has been granted an order for costs by Judge Mary Laffoy in the Irish High Court today in relation to Fyffes' failed legal action against DCC and others," said DCC in a company statement.
A legal source close to Fyffes told RTE Business it would be several days before it was clear what the financial impact would be.
