Over 3,500 competitors and many more thousands of visitors were handed the energy boosting fruit by the Fyffes team, and the number one banana brand was prominent around the gruelling course for an event that will receive TV coverage in this weekend's Grandstand (Saturday afternoon on BBC1).

Fyffes also supported Jane Tomlinson (pictured) in the event. Tomlinson, who is terminally ill with cancer, has run the London Marathon this year and followed it up with the triathlon – Fyffes agreed to cover her expenses and matched the money she raised for Cancer Research UK pound for pound, up to £2,500.
