The two new cases were found in Wragby, Lincolnshire and Newport, Shropshire and reveal that conditions are ideal for the spread of the disease, which if left can have serious repercussions on growing crop.
Once again, British Potato Council blight scouts identified the infections and have sent the plant samples away for laboratory examination. The dumps will be burnt off as the BPC continue to urge all potato growers to check for waste material on land and around buildings and to destroy plant growth as soon as its found.
