Bomfords Prepared Ltd has called in Deloitte Birmingham as administrators.

The company which supplies prepared fresh produce and herbs to the supermarket sector trading under the name of B Prepared is based in Pershore and has a projected turnover of £10 million and 120 employees.

This latest move follows the appointment of the same administrators to the Bomfords Group on June 22.

The failure of the Bomfords Group has been attributed to significant cost over-runs in the recent construction of a new pack house and administration building at Atherstone, Stratford Upon Avon, together with the start up investment in the Bomfords Prepared Business, both of which have had an adverse effect on cash flows.

Dominic Wong, partner in Deloitte’s Reorganisation Services practice, said: “Following its formation in 2004, Bomfords Prepared Limited has grown rapidly in a highly performing market sector. It is profitable and is forecast to achieve a turnover of £10 million this year.

"Its failure is due to the cash-flow pressures faced by the Bomfords Group.”
