FTNON's coating system

Food Technology Noord-Oost Nederland BV (FTNON) will launch its latest fresh-cut and convenience technologies at the Freshconex exhibition in Berlin from Feb 7-9.

The company has a stand in hall 7.2 and will be showing and advising delegates on its new coating system for applying edible coatings on fresh-cut fruit and vegetable products, and the Fast Line Inspections seal tester for an accurate monitoring of flexible packaging to detect gas leaks.

To avoid loss of quality as a result of discoloration or loss of moisture, products have to be treated after peeling and segmenting. The new FTNON coating system also allows expensive fluids to be recovered and re-used. This cuts production costs and it also reduces the percentage of waste considerably.

The correct atmosphere when packing is of great importance in maintaining quality.

The FTNON Fast Line Inspections seal tester was developed to solve the problems that manual monitoring can cause. Under the FTNON system fresh-cut fruit and vegetable packs come in contact with three small conveyor belts. Leakages are detected by means of the “measure-pressure-measure-compare” principle. Product changeover takes place with a single touch on the screen, so no mechanical adjustments are necessary.

FTNON will also exhibit other methods of processing fresh salads and herbs, vegetables, fruit and mushrooms at the trade show.
