FTA launches E-membership service

The Freight Transport Association has launched an additional information service for its members. E-membership will enable existing members to nominate additional contact to receive FTA's electronic news, information services and web access.

“The weekly FTA e-news service provides succinct, digestible updates on what is happening in all aspects of the transport industry in both the UK and Europe, as well as the latest news on FTA policy and services developments - with hyperlinks to briefing notes, press notices, statistics and surveys,” said the association.

“The FTA website offers a huge range of information material on subjects ranging from the Working Time Directive and Driver's Hours to rail freight, road and workplace transport safety, digital tachographs and the new FTA fuel service.”

Mark Cartwright, FTA's membership product manager, said: “Listening to member feedback it became clear that many are looking for FTA to provide the huge range of information we hold to members of their team other than just the traditional membership contact. This wide-ranging information flow is seen as a vital part of ensuring individual companies and the industry at large keeps pace with legislative changes to ensure operational compliance.

“E-membership is a valuable addition to FTA's member services as it will help companies make certain they have access to the most up to date information at all times.”

E-membership is initially being introduced on a free of charge basis. For further details, or to join the scheme, call the Member Service Centre on 01892 552222 or email info@fta.co.uk with "e-membership" as the subject.
