The Freight Transport Association has published a bumper 2006 edition of its International Road Transport Guide - a comprehensive guide to the operation of goods vehicles in more than 50 countries throughout Europe and the Middle East.
The book includes special requirements for permits and quotas; vehicle operations; the CMR Convention; dangerous goods; perishable foodstuffs; the transport of animals; drivers' hours and records; as well as customs procedures and documentation.
This year the Guide is extended to include currency details for member states that are not in the Eurozone.
There are also new or extended sections on offences and sanctions, as well as detailed road toll information for several countries, including Greece, Italy, Slovakia and Slovenia.
Details for the Frejus and Mont Blanc tunnels have also been revised.
In addition to the country pages, the Guide includes a section on the revised health insurance requirements following the abolition of the old E111 form, together with forthcoming customs changes such as Authorised Economic Operator and, the Authorised Consignor concept for TIR.
The 408-page book will be issued free to members of FTA's International Group or available for purchase by all other FTA members or interested parties.
