Peterborough-based third-party fruit packer Frupac has commissioned the Assessment Network to help it achieve Investors in People (IiP) accreditation.
The Assessment Network is the Investors In People Centre for the East of England and says it helps businesses achieve the IiP standard by providing an individual business framework tailored to the individual needs companies face in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
Frupac’s Tamsin Bould said: “Thanks to the professionalism and direction of the Assessment Network, we are well on the way to achieving the standard. We are now putting processes and procedures into place not just for the business, but also for our employees, which has given them a real direction. Feedback has been very encouraging, as everybody recognises the importance of their individual and collective roles in making Frupac a success. The added benefit is that it has had a positive effect on staff retention because they can see we are prepared to invest in their future.”
With many of Frupac’s employees coming from overseas, particularly Poland, the company says it has acknowledged cultural differences by providing a prayer area and celebrating religious occasions such as Ramadan, as well as Christian celebrations.
Bould added: “Working within the business framework we have improved our processes and standards, and now work to the consistently high standards, that are integral to the smooth running of the business. Our people are receiving the very best training and our customers are receiving the very best service. We are confident about our future and everybody is ready and primed for the next stage of Frupac’s development.”
