Fruitmasters has announced that it has completed the takeover of Kardol.

Ramon de Schepper, commercial director at Kardol, told frehinfo that the move will strengthen both businesses. He said: “Fruitmasters supplied approximately 130 million kilos of apples and 50m kilos of pears last year, while Kardol supplied around 25m kilos. I think both companies will benefit from this move as we look to run a more cost-effective operation and plan for future growth.”

Schepper, who will assume the role of commercial manager at Fruitmasters responsible for exports, adds that the companies want to make the integration as smooth as possible. He said: “With such a move it's important for the staff and the business that there is as little upheaval as possible. Over the next 12 months we will look to stabilise the business before we look to expand any of our existing markets.”

Kardol will move from its current location in Waardenburg to the Fruitmasters Group in Geldermalsen on December 29.
