Fruit consumption plays a vital role in the protection against disease, said German minister of consumer protection, Renate Künast, during a tour of Fruit Logistica 2005.
Accompanied by leading international politicians, Künast, together with Berlin’s senator for economics, Harald Wolf, opened the FRUIT LOGISTICA 2005.
Jean-Pierre Laboureix, commercial counsellor at the French Embassy, told the tour party that the consumer’s needs are always the primary concern for his country’s food industry.
Other stops were made to meet the Spanish commercial counsellor Julio García, Hungary’s under-secretary for agriculture István Feher, to see the Turkish display and to hold discussions with Ronald Bown, Business Manager for the Chilean Fresh Fruit Association.
The delegation then visited the stand of the Flanders business group Vlam and the combined stand of CMA, BVEO and QS.
