Fruit Logistica will once again turn the spotlight on outstanding innovations in the fresh produce industry in Berlin from February 4-6.
For the fourth year in a row, organiser Messe Berlin and Fruchthandel are inviting exhibitors at the leading international trade fair for fruit and vegetable marketing to submit applications for the Fruit Logistica Innovation Award (FLIA). Presented for exceptional innovations in the fruit and vegetable business and related service sectors, the award honours new products or services that truly break new ground in the fresh produce sector.
Previous FLIA winners include “Salanova” lettuce developed by Rijk Zwaan (2006), “Vitamini’s” vegetable snacks from the FresQ/Rainbow Growers Group (2007) and “Intense” tomatoes from Nunhems Netherlands BV (2008).
The competition is open to all companies exhibiting at Fruit Logistica 2009 that have introduced an innovation to the market since November 1, 2007.
A panel will select the 10 best innovations to be nominated for the FLIA. The top-10 will be prominently displayed in a special exhibition area. During the first two days of the trade fair, more than 50,000 visitors from 125 countries will have an opportunity to vote for the innovation of the year.
The winner will be honoured at an official award ceremony on 6 February 2009. Application forms and details regarding participation are available for download on the Fruit Logistica website under Exhibitor Service / FLIA Registration.
