From 2009, Fruit Logistica will take place from Wednesday to Friday.
The dates for next year’s event will be February 4-6. The decision by organizer Messe Berlin together with the event advisory board, keeps the event duration at three days, but removes the weekend from the equation.
Until this year, the event took place from Thursday to Saturday, but the vastly increased number of international trade visitors and exhibitors had brought comment that the Saturday was becoming increasingly difficult due to travel requirements and resulting time constraints.
Attendance on the final day of this year’s event was noticeably lower. “Messe Berlin is very pleased to be able to make this very positive change to Fruit Logistica, which will be of clear benefit to both its exhibitors and trade visitors,” said a statement. “It is expected that from 2009 onwards the Friday as final exhibition day will have a greater impact and value for both exhibitors and trade visitors, and will serve as a clear qualitative improvement to facilitate even more business contacts.”
