Messe Berlin has announced the 10 finalists for its second Fruit Logistica innovation award.

The nominees include Apéribilles microwaveable mini-potatoes from French company Pom’Alliance; a German promotional concept for retail street markets; Boxidea fully recycled and biodegradable wooden trays from Spain; new French bi-coloured apple Juliet; and the Italian Masterlabel system for packing vegetables so that they can be resealed by consumers.

Also up for consideration are Mon bébé mange bio easy-to-prepare fruit and vegetable selection trays for babies; Dutch red pointed cabbage Red Flame; an 11-tomato variety pack from Germany; and, from the Netherlands, Vitamini salad snack packs and Windtofresh gel to keep cut flowers fresh without water.

The winner will be announced at the Berlin trade fair on February 10.
