Fruit Logistica already in gear for 2006

Following the resounding success of this year’s Fruit Logistica, the world’s leading trade fair for fruit and vegetable marketing continues to expand. Due to high levels of demand, especially from foreign exhibitors, even more hall space will be made available at the event in Berlin - from February 2-4 2006 - for the presentation of fresh produce and associated services.

A worldwide marketing, advertising and information campaign is now in full swing to promote the leading fair for the international fresh produce trade.

Preparations are also in progress for a supporting programme consisting of hall forums, seminars and corporate events. The conference programme will focus on the silver jubilee of the Fresh Produce Forum, the initial nucleus of Fruit Logistica, which will be held for the 25th time in the coming year.

Exhibitors can obtain their application forms online, which can be downloaded not only in English but also in French, Italian, Spanish and German (www.fruitlogistica.com/Exhibitor Info). The Fruit Logistica project team in Berlin is supported by the worldwide network of representatives of Messe Berlin in 80 countries, who are available to deal with all enquiries relating to the event. The application deadline for exhibitors is July 31 2005.

In 2005, a display area measuring 48,000 square metres welcomed more than 29,000 international decision-makers from 95 countries at the Berlin fairgrounds, to see the latest trends and developments.

Feedback from the 1,373 exhibitors from 64 countries agreed that there had been excellent contacts with importers, exporters, wholesalers, retailers and with business associates representing every stage in the fruit and vegetable trade. An incredible 96 per cent of all trade visitors described the commercial results of their visit to the trade fair as positive.

One notable feature of the trade visitors was their high levels of decision-making authority, with more than 87 per cent of trade visitors exercising a decisive, co-decisive or advisory role in their companies’ purchasing and procurement decisions.
