Soft drinks giant Britvic has been forced to recall bottles of Robinsons Fruit Shoot Strawberry No Added Sugar due to a risk that the juice had been contaminated with peanuts.

Britvic also told people with nut allergies to immediately dispose of any affected product or return it. All retailers were advised to remove the drink from their shelves.

A spokeswoman for Britvic said the company was committed to the health and safety of its consumers and apologised for any inconvenience caused. She said only a “small number” of drinks were affected. People without nut allergies are unaffected.
