Supermarket launches 45-strong range of convenient solutions for new year healthy eating
Asda has launched a major new healthy eating range, with fruit and veg as key ingredients in a wide range of dishes.
The new, 45+ product-strong Health Menu range starts at just 75p and is described as ”bringing simplicity back to healthy eating, with colourful, nutritious dishes sure to brighten grey winter days”.
Created by Asda’s in-house nutritionist and chef team, the Health Menu range contains a series of nourishing and energising meals. Each product is labelled with a specific health benefit, such as helping with skin health, gut health, or bone health.
The range includes four one-pan scratch-cooking kits containing everything shoppers need to make a balanced, home-cooked meal. Customers can choose from the Smoky Chicken & Chorizo Paella (£4.75), Fruity Moroccan-Style Chicken Pilaf (£4.75), Sticky Beef Teriyaki Noodles (£4.75) or Butternut Squash Linguine (£4.75).
Aimed at speedy midweek dinners, the Smoky Chicken, Chickpea and Red Pepper Burgers (£2.50) and Flavoursome Chicken & Greens Chipolatas (£3) are low in saturated fat and are said to be a great way to get an extra portion of veg. Packed with peas, spinach, green pesto, kale and mozzarella, the gluten-free sausages are a source of protein, while the burgers are full of red peppers, chickpeas and courgettes.
Also in the range are four power pots, including Smoky Beef Chilli (£2.50) and a veg-packed Spicy Chicken Arrabbiata (£2.50).
Asda’s new range of Health Menu soups starts at 75p, with three flavours from Warming Mexican Style Chicken and Bean (75p) to Aromatic Spiced Chickpea and Spinach Soup (75p). Packed full of pulses and vegetables, they are said to make a great choice for those who are short on time but looking to up their veg intake.
For a heartier meal that can be prepared in minutes, there are eight health bowls, while there are also ready-prepared frozen smoothie mixes, such as the Zesty Mango, Pineapple and Ginger Smoothie Mix (£4).
Sophie Rose, nutrition and health strategy manager at Asda, said: “At Asda, we believe that healthy eating should be simple, convenient, and accessible to all. That’s why we’ve developed our new Health Menu range, full of nutritious meals that are quick and easy to prepare.
“Healthy eating shouldn’t cost the earth, and with prices starting at just 75p, we hope to empower customers to make healthy choices whilst showing them that you don’t need to count calories or compromise on taste to live a healthy lifestyle.”
