At its last board meeting in Paris earlier this month, Freshfel Europe decided two create two working groups. One will focus on pesticides and the other on promotion.

The board concluded that promotion campaigns aimed at increasing the consumption of fruit and vegetables need to be stepped up across Europe. There is therefore an increasing need to co-ordinate these promotional efforts on a pan-European basis. The creation of a working group should allow Freshfel Europe to play a central role in the collection of consumption information as well as ensuring it is well placed to take on the establishment of EU-wide promotion campaigns.
