More than 350 delegates are expected at Fresh2003 in Paris on October 1-3. The event is the first annual conference to be organised by Eurofruit magazine with trade association Freshfel Europe.

The final programme has been published and will focus on the role of the consumer in the fresh produce business in Europe.

Speakers from key European retailers Coop Italia, Kesko Finland, Edeka Germany and Monoprix France will give their views on changing consumer demand during a panel session on the first day of the conference.

Price strategies and food safety will feature later that day with speakers from Atlanta Germany, Pomona France, Anecoop Spain, and the Greenery.

Health and nutritional considerations will feature the following day with speakers from Fyffes Ireland and Harlequin Plus UK. The conference will then conclude with case studies focusing on consumer demand for convenience by Del Monte Fresh Produce UK and Florette France.

The conference will be translated simultaneously into French, German, Italian, Spanish and English and promises to be the largest conference in the European fresh produce year as Freshfel Europe and Eurofruit pool their resources as organisers of Cimo and Eurofruit congresses in the past.

Organisers also promise plenty of time for networking and establishing contacts throughout the two-day event.
