Fresh Link, logistics service provider for the fresh sector in Venlo, Netherlands, has officially received ISO 9001 and HACCP certification from Ron Bleijswijk, director of Ekas.

Bleijswijk presented this certificate to Rob Stoll, director of Fresh Link. The presentation marks the satisfactory end to an intensive process followed by Fresh Link. The certification was achieved during a demanding period of renovation and building work.

Fresh Link began changing its internal processes to comply with ISO and HACCP about a year ago. This meant detailing and registering all the processes followed by the company, for example, checking incoming and outgoing produce flows and complaint procedures.

Fresh Link is now covered by ISO and HACCP certification. This means that Fresh Link's activities fully comply with the quality standards expected by the certifying bodies. Fresh Link can now provide services that also fully meet the demands of its' customers.

Fresh Link was awarded the certificate during the official opening of the new office premises in the completely renovated logistics centre - a project that took more than three years to complete. Previously, Fresh Link had 50,000 square metres, of which just a small part was fully conditioned to its needs and the needs of its customers. It can now use a building that is smaller at 24,000sqm, but fully specified. Fresh Link can also use 4,200sqm of cooling capacity available in various storage units. There are 67 dock boards in total. The new offices cover 1,500sqm, on three floors.

More than 400 guests attended the opening. After the award ceremony, Gerald Müller, director of Capespan Continent, gave a presentation of his vision of developments in logistics for the fresh sector. He was followed by Frans van Dijck, director of ZON Holding and Rob Stoll, director of Fresh Link, presenting a practical transformation plan and the role of Fresh Link.
