Europe’s leading produce conference, Fresh, is to head to Russia for the first time in April.

Organised by Eurofruit Magazine and Freshfel Europe, the congress will take place in St Petersburg on 13-15 April, 2010.

The two-day conference and expo takes place at the Corinthia Hotel, the new five-star business and conference hotel on St Petersburg’s famous Nevsky Prospect in the heart of the city.

Russia has become one of the leading buyers of fresh produce from suppliers all over the world in recent years. Its consumer market has changed dramatically and new changes are on the horizon as incomes grow and more food is sold through the leading supermarkets.

There are extensive opportunities in the fresh fruit and vegetable sector in the Russian market, with a network of more than 250 buyers and suppliers from Russia and the rest of the world due to attend Fresh in St Petersburg.

This year’s Fresh programme focuses on the major issues of importance to the Russian fresh fruit and vegetable business including emerging trends, the recession, consumer changes and impacts on exports and retailers, as well as supply challenges.

Delegates can register early, by 12 March, and save over 20 per cent on the fee. They will also be entitled to optional study tours and a gala dinner at Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace. Freshfel Europe members also benefit from a preferential rate to attend the event.
