The artistic skills of 11-year old Hannah Benson have won her £125 plus £1,500 worth of PE equipment for her school in a Design a Play Time Poster Competition, organised by Le Crunch apples.

Hannah, a Year 6 pupil at Manor Preparatory School in Abingdon entered this national competition because she loves drawing. Her winning poster depicts her ideal Play Time day – an obstacle course of fun and games showing the four Le Crunch Crew apple characters skipping, log stepping, pogo-ing and swinging.

The Best Play Time Poster competition forms part of an educational campaign, sponsored by Le Crunch to make fruit fun. This year's programme focuses on encouraging children to participate in games and exercises and the judges were looking for a poster promoting a day of fitness and healthy eating in school.

'We had great fun judging the competition and Hannah's drawing was by far the most colourful and imaginative and she's cleverly incorporated some of our key healthy eating messages,' said Jacques Vanoye, President of the French Apples Marketing Committee.

The judges were particularly impressed with her clever 'did you know' healthy eating apple facts, incorporated into the poster – 'apples contain about 70 per cent moisture and are a great thirst quencher after exercise' and 'apples contain the mineral phosphorus which is good for the brain'.

Hannah received her prize at the school on 28th April 2003 in presence of her school friends, teachers, parents and grandparents.
