The three remaining bodies of the firefighters killed in the Wealmoor packhouse blaze have been brought out of the wreckage to a guard of honour from colleagues.

The bodies of Darren Yates-Badley, Ashley Stephens and John Averis were found after a four-day search.

The guard of honour late yesterday made for a poignant scene outside the vegetable packing warehouse, as around 30 members of the firefighter’s families joined emergency service staff for the silent tribute.

Warwickshire's county fire officer William Brown said "We've now got all four colleagues who we've lost in this tragic incident.

"The fire and rescue service in Warwickshire and nationally will take a long time to recover from this event."

About 140 police are now working on the investigation into the cause of the blaze, and 160 packhouse employees have already been interviewed.
