Two new non-executive directors have joined the board of Fresca Group Ltd with a wealth of retail and legal experience behind them.
Elizabeth McMeikan and Simon Hodson will be joining the company as non-executive directors, following experience with Tesco and Beachcroft LLP respectively.
McMeikan brings with her a wealth of experience in marketing, retail and human resources. Beginning with Colgate-Palmolive she built a very successful career with Tesco plc, which she joined as marketing manager in fresh produce, followed by a number of buying roles. She rose to managing director of Tesco Express and ultimately became HR stores board director with the supermarket giant.
Most recently she has enjoyed a distinguished term as a Civil Service Commissioner and holds non-executive director positions with JD Wetherspoon plc and Direct Wines Ltd. She also chairs the Membership Selection Panel for Network Rail.
Hodson is a senior partner with law firm Beachcroft LLP and is a specialist in corporate law. His career with Beachcroft has spanned more than 25 years, developing a particular focus on private company acquisitions. Through his work as a lawyer for Fresca Group he knows the company well already and is said to be well-placed to advise on its structure and strategy.
Amanda Burton is stepping down from her position as a non-executive director at the company after a term of almost 12 years.
The firm said: “Amanda has been a valuable part of the advisory team and has made a significant contribution to the board during a period of rapid growth and change in the company. We wish her well as she continues in her career as director of global business services with Clifford Chance.”
Chris Mack, executive chairman of Fresca Group Ltd, said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Elizabeth and Simon to Fresca Group. The board is going to benefit greatly from the input of these very well-respected, dynamic professionals. Our industry is going through a constant transition in a challenging retail climate, and we need to embrace fresh ideas and new modes of operation. Elizabeth and Simon will be a valuable asset to Fresca, helping to ensure our continued success.”
