Fresh cut technology firm Food Freshly has set out its commitment to growth in the UK market by opening two new offices in London and Dublin.
The German-based company, which creates mineral formulas that extend shelf life of fresh cut produce using the Process Water Analysis Method (PWAM), already operates in 23 countries worldwide supplying prepared produce companies and outlets.
As well as local warehousing, the new UK and Irish location will be able to provide a faster next day delivery service to UK and Ireland-based clients.
Speaking at a press launch event at Borough Market this morning (3 November), managing director Sukhdev Singh said the new locations will make customer relationships easier by providing a base for meetings and distribution that is closer to UK clients.
Singh said the company is looking for premium and high-care processing businesses, that either don’t have a shelf-life strategy in place or are using an alternative method.
“We are expecting rapid growth in the UK, if it is in line with our growth in other countries,” he said.
The Food Freshly process, which sees fresh cut produce dipped in mineral powder that is added to water, can extend shelf-life by between seven and 28 days.
The company already supplies Emirates and Lufthansa airlines, and has recently signed its largest contract in the firm’s history with a Dubai hotel chain.
