Hong Kong will host the continent's largest trade event

Hot on the heels of its European counterpart, interest is intensifying in exhibiting at this year’s Asia Fruit Logistica ahead of the deadline for stand applications this month.

Berlin partner-country Chile is the latest country to commit to making a significant appearance at the event while other key exhibitor groups from countries such as the US, Australia and the Netherlands are set to expand their stand presence at this year's show.

Gérald Lamusse, managing director of Global Produce Events, “Its clear focus on the fresh produce sector across Asia makes Asia Fruit Logistica the obvious destination for anyone wanting to market fresh fruits and vegetables in this region. Established and new companies alike are now making the trade fair the centre of their marketing activities in the Asian region.

"There are just three weeks left for exhibitors to file their applications. Get your stand application in before the deadline and you are guaranteed to secure stand space this year."

Asia Fruit Logistica takes place alongside Asiafruit Congress, the continent’s leading conference event which was launched more than 10 years ago. Among other things, this year's conference and networking event focuses on the market opportunities in Indonesia and Japan and analyses the impact on fresh produce sales of the new market dynamics in China, Asia's largest single market.

More than 3,500 trade visitors from 57 countries all over the world attended the event in 2008. Independent research carried out at the trade show revealed 92 per cent of visitors held a key purchasing position in their companies while the Asiafruit Congress alone attracted some 600 delegates.

Asia Fruit Logistica takes place on 2-4 September at Hong Kong's convention and exhibition Centre, HKCEC.
