Despite the rain and high winds, the Flowers & Plants Association had a very successful week at the Hampton Court Flower Show.

Neither press nor public were deterred as they fought their way through the umbrellas to the F&PA’s ever popular demonstration area.

London Tonight reporter Glen Goodman joined floral designer Chris Jones on Monday for a flower arranging lesson - with one aim being to inspire more men to consider buying and arranging flowers themselves. London Tonight is ITV’s regional news programme for London and the South-East.

Accompanying Chris were some of the UK’s brightest up-and-coming floral designers - Rosie Hughes, Sara Gauvreau, Louise Roffey, Sarah Horne and Chris Price. Their stunning creations were inspired by the summer trend ‘Urban Beach’ - sand dunes, sea shells and driftwood were the order of the day.

The designers attracted large audiences, often with standing-room only. Their arrangements were accessible, relaxed and easy-to-achieve with a bit of imagination and a large helping of creativity.
