Bagged salad giant Florette has completed the first phase of a factory extension at its Staffordshire site.

The expansion will double the size of the Lichfield facility and has been undertaken with food construction specialist Clegg Food Projects, which is expected to complete the final 50,000 sqft development by year end.

Florette's UK md Gerald Lacey said: 'The factory extension was required due to significant growth in demand for our products. The extra capacity will enable us to continue to increase our portfolio of products.' Sales of Florette's product have grown consistently, both leading and out-performing the market for prepared salads. Florette has recently launched the UK's first-ever National Salad Week, established to encourage people to focus on salads and experiment with different recipes and ingredients.
