Florette's current range attracts around nine million shoppers a year

Florette is set to launch a new range of on-the-go protein salads as it ventures into the food to go market.

Available through Ginsters Van Sales Company, the Tasty & Balanced range will offer on-the-go consumers a high protein, low carbohydrate lunch option. Incorporating Florette’s salad ingredients, the Tasty & Balanced product range will be available to purchase from September 2016.

Out of Home Channel Controller at Florette UK and Ireland, Tracy Southwell, said: “Our insight found that on-the-go consumers are looking for tasty options that are fresh, convenient and nutritious, as well as being easy to use straight from the pack – and our Tasty & Balanced range is just that.”

She added: “We are looking forward to entering this market and hope our new protein salads will go some way to addressing concerns over the lack of healthy options available in the category.”

Consumers will have a choice of two flavours – tuna and sweetcorn and sweet chilli chicken, both under 221 kcals per serving.The salads are served in a deep dish bowl and come with a dressing, sprinkle sachet and fork.

Florette’s entry into the food to go arena marks an exciting time for the salad category, which saw 5% year on year growth and was central to driving overall growth in the UK’s eating out market.

Ginsters Van Sales Company delivers to over 5,000 customers, including student union shops, hospital cafes, service stations and convenience stores.
