Florette took centre stage within the three-hall Freshconex exhibition in Berlin and found that being part of the new exhibition gave the company an edge.

“Last year, when we were part of the main halls, more people came to see us than this year, but not everyone who visited was relevant,” said Phillippe Fontenelle of Florette, which was pushing forward its new Emotions range of prepared lettuce to the German market.

“But, although we have seen less people as part of Freshconex, all of the contacts made have been very useful. It is a good idea to have all the fresh-cut companies together, but it does feel like we are outside the main event. I think that next year, Freshconex should be moved into the middle of Fruit Logistica and shouldn’t be in three separate small halls. One large hall with everyone in would be very interesting.”
