FloraHolland Trade Fair to be bigger and better in 2008

The FloraHolland Trade Fair is set to welcome more participants and a complete product line-up at this year’s event from Wednesday to Friday, March 12-14. Held in Naaldwijk, the Netherlands, the trade fair attracts a large number of ornamental flower and plant specialists, and allows buyers and their customers to get acquainted with the products on offer in the market.

Since Bloemenveiling Aalsmeer and FloraHolland merged in January this year, the new FloraHolland co-operative offers growers and customers a network of six locations, in Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk, Rijnsburg, Venlo, Bleiswijk and Eelde. Due to the number of growers from the Aalsmeer auction registering to take part in the trade fair for the first time this year, attendance to the trade fair has increase on last year’s number by 30 per cent.

The trade fair is organised into sections such as the novelties square, the trends and retail square, and the exhibitors’ square. The novelties square will display from 40 to 50 products arranged into four categories: cut flowers, indoor plants, outdoor plants and the new addition of product concepts. During the FloraHolland Trade Fair a panel of judges will nominate 12 novelties for the FloraHolland Awards 2008.

Visitors to the trends and retail square within the trade fair can find inspiration in the various style groups, the different product concepts and innovative shelf presentation for flowers and plants. Due to the high number of registrations this year, FloraHolland decided to change the layout of the exhibitors’ hall to provide further space.
