Tomato growers Flavourfresh Salads landed a Silver Gilt Award for its stand at the recent RHS Tatton Park Show.

Known as “the greatest garden show in the north”, the show celebrates the region’s horticultural diversity.

The Flavourfresh stand recreated a 1920s shop full of fresh, tasty and colourful tomatoes, all grown at the company’s nurseries on the Southport coast.

Flavourfresh managing director Mike Fradsham said: “We are delighted to receive these awards as our team puts in a lot of time and effort to create the displays, but our main aim is to promote the British tomato industry in the north of England.”

Julie Woolley of the British Tomato Growers’ Assocation said: “We are constantly amazed by the ingenuity of the stands created by our members and we are really proud of their achievements. Promoting British tomatoes is what we are all about, not just because they are British, but because they are the best that money can buy.”
