Belgian cauliflower bearing the Flandria marque is now available in small sizes to meet burgeoning demand from small households.

Eights and 10s are offered in returnable Europool crates with minimum head diameter of 20cm for 8s and 16cm for 10s. Previously only 6s were available from the auctions.

Meanwhile, the cauli season has been slightly later in starting this year and supplies are expected to be weather-dependent. Auctions forecast a minimum of 100,000 heads of cauliflower in the first week of May, rising to between 200,000 and 500,000 a week by mid-month. By the month’s end some 800,000 heads will be cut and marketed weekly.
