Root vegetable supplier Fenmarc Produce last week hosted a delegation of vistors from Musgrave GB and its Budgens retail partners.
Over a two-day period, delegates visited the Musgrave Wellingborough depot and followed the supply chain back to the source in Lincolnshire at Irwin Farmings Ltd, viewing the harvest of a parsnip crop.
Visitors followed the produce back to the packhouse, where guided tour guides explained first hand the processes involved in getting the end product right, technical systems and quality control.
Willie Hamilton, Musgrave Retail Partners GB trading director, said: “This was an ideal opportunity for our fresh produce team and representatives from our Budgens retail partners to get closer to the fantastic fresh produce we sell and understand the process in more depth.”
