Potato growers and advisers are being encouraged to take advantage of the updated web-based training module on Fazor to improve their understanding of the product and earn CPD BASIS points in the process.

Dow AgroSciences explained that the web-based system has been updated and improved, but fundamentally provides basic information on the problems that the product controls, what the product is, how it works and how to get the best from it.

Those completing the module, which is accessible at www.fazor.co.uk, are entitled to collect one CPD BASIS point.

“Fazor (maleic hydrazide) is the only in-potato field solution for the control of volunteer potatoes, which are a source of blight, viruses and potato cyst nematodes. Applied at the right time and under the right conditions, data shows that Fazor gives 75 percent control or more of potato volunteers in following crops,” said the firm’s marketing specialist, John Sellars.

“It will also inhibit sprouting in store and can be used in an integrated programme with CIPC. In order to optimize the performance of Fazor, there are a number of criteria that need to be met and the updated web-enabled training module ensures that advisors and users of Fazor understand how it works and how they can get the best from it.”
