IGD is to employ a new industry development director.

Mark Golder will join the grocery research body on 22 April, bringing with him nearly 20 years’ experience across the whole supply chain.

His previous roles have included food technologist and buyer at Marks & Spencer, commercial manager at Brakes, and, most recently, commercialisation director (foods innovation) at PepsiCo. where he has worked for the last ten years.

Joanne Denney-Finch, chief executive at IGD, said: “Mark’s appointment to this new senior role at IGD reflects the importance of our industry development programme, which helps the food and consumer goods industry deliver what matters to the public.

“Mark will lead the key teams at IGD to make an even bigger impact in people development through, for example, our Leading Edge network and Feeding Britain’s Future, helping young unemployed people.

“We are also stepping up our work on nutrition and sustainability, to deliver a secure and sustainable future where everyone has affordable, safe and reliable food and groceries.'

Golder, added: “I am delighted to be joining IGD, and looking forward to working with colleagues in the industry, to make a difference and help deliver what matters to the public.”
