Wholehead salads supplier English Village Salads scooped the Skills Development Award at the annual Deliciouslyorkshire Awards earlier this month.
EVS, which has also just signed up to continue as sponsor of the 5 A DAY Supporter of the Year award, at Re:fresh 2008, won the accolade for “demonstrating a focused and flexible range of training with good evidence of use of new technology”.
For the past 16 years, the Selby-based firm has worked with local growers to supply cucumber, lettuce and tomatoes to the UK retail market. A comprehensive skills and training development plans and continuous improvement initiatives have vastly improved employee performance and morale, says the company
