The EU Rapid Alert System for Food & Feed has issued an alert on a shipment of Costa Rican melons.
Samples taken in the Netherlands on 25 February showed residues of pesticide oxamyl were present.
The Dutch authorities informed their EU counterparts and an alert has been issued as the melons have been distributed not just in the Netherlands, but also in Poland and the Russian Federation.
