Eurofrigo goes green

Eurofrigo is experiencing a surge of interest in its latest inverter battery driven fridges for vans - the B2500XT and B2500 Skyline units. Eurofrigo is a well-established Italian manufacturer of innovative vehicle refrigeration systems. Its inverter battery drive units are already in use with several leading refrigerated van fleet operators including Sainsbury’s and Asda.

The technically advanced, electric fridges have several green features, which differentiate them from conventional direct-drive or diesel systems. Operators have said that they see the battery drive fridges as a sure means of improving their own green credentials.

The units have fewer core components as they are made up of one single part. This means that there are fewer redundant or disposable parts, thereby reducing the amount of “hard waste” at the end of a fridge’s operational life. And as they are fully self-contained, the electric units have no remote engine driven compressor, associated pipe work or brackets. As these parts are typically responsible for around 70 per cent of fridge failures that occur in conventional units, the need for replacement parts is also minimised with the electric units - eliminating the need for recycling.
