Horticulture Research International is hosting the event from 11am-4pm. It will feature a variety of scientific exhibits and guided tours of laboratories and the electron microscope facility. Visitors can also take a self-guided walk around glasshouses and their support systems as well as the fruit storage research facility. Buses will be available for field trial and farm machinery tours and to view the pesticides-handling unit. Gardening queries can be brought up at the Plant Clinic and there will also be IT, photographic and art exhibitions.

Entry to the open day, which will include activities for children, parking and refreshments, is free.
