Produce World, the UK's largest grower and supplier of fresh vegetables, has announced an improvement in its employment engagement figures.

Around 64 per cent of employees said the firm was a great place to work, up 17 per cent from last year's average of 47 per cent.

Meanwhile,Produce World Chatteris doubled its overall positive engagement score from 35 per cent to 70 per cent, and Produce World Yaxley achieved an overall score of 80 per cent.

The results of the survey, which was run in partnership with the Great Place to Work Institute, was the first time that results had improved across all sectors of a surveyed firm, according to the vegetable supplier.

David Frost, group HR director at Produce World, said: “To see such a huge increase across the group during a period of large scale restructuring is a credit to the leaders across the business and the commitment of all colleagues has been fantastic.

“However, while we are very encouraged by the improvement in employee engagement we are certainly not complacent. Leaders at all levels in Produce World are committed to maintain the progress that has been made as we continue to build a strong and sustainable business for the future.”

The survey was completed by over 80 per cent of the company’s 735 employees.
