Producers from El Salvador were in Berlin last week to look for opportunities into the European market.

Although the country’s main market is the US, Luis Viéytez, of export promotion organization Exporta, said it had established trading relations with European countries, including the UK.

The agriculture sector of El Salvador accounts for around 60 per cent of the country’s gross national product, with 40 per cent of the country depending on the sector for their livelihood.

Exporta were at Fruit Logistica to demonstrate El Salvador’s wide range of produce, including limes, coconuts and papaya, avocados and cashew nuts, as well as a number of processed lines.
