Efsis, which gives food operations official certificates, has three offices in the UK and others in Scandinavia, Spain, Germany, Hungary and Ireland. The French office will bring the total to nine bases in Europe.

Efsis business development manager Paul Ruocco said: 'Opening a French operation means we will be without doubt, the most significant player in the European inspection and certification market place.' 'We have seen rapid expansion within Europe over the last twelve months, spearheaded by retailers and manufacturers who are demanding improved standards for their suppliers and customers respectively. Our expansion plans are a reflection of the transforming market.' The French operation will offer highly trained inspectors with technical qualifications in the food industry. The new office will be based in Limoges.
