The firm, which supplies DIY chains and multiples across the UK with dry bulbs has appointed Paula Edgington as technical director.

Edgington, who has been with Winchester Growers for three years in the capacity of technical manager, also brings to her new role experience from Marks & Spencer, where she was employed as a technologist.

Her new role will involve implementing quality control systems across the company; auditing the supply base; technical product development for both new products and existing lines and dealing with wider issues such as ethical trading.

Edgington said: 'I am delighted to be promoted to director level and continue as part of the team taking the business forward in the future.'
