Ecuador is to host a major event with the goal of giving an extensive insight into the country’s banana industry this month.
ProBanano Fair 2009, the second such event, will take place in Machala in the south west of the country on September 24-26 at the city’s Oro Verde hotel.
Organisers hope ProBanano will be the meeting point for major manufacturers, suppliers and distributors and will present an opportunity to display their latest developments in materials, equipment and services to banana producers.
The fair will also host talks from banana producers and field technicians, as well as executives from Ecuador’s corporations and exporters to discuss the developments in the country’s banana sector and the challenges it faces.
It will also play host to a number of production companies involved in agricultural chemicals, certifications, labels, fumigation, tools, labs, packaging materials, plants, plastic, irrigation systems and cargo.
ProBanano is backed by the Banana Exporters’ Association of Ecuador, the Municipality of Machala and the Chamber of Commerce Machala and is sponsored by Paradise Products of Ecuador, Basmher-banana Protective and the Banascopio Guide.
