All government information on food aimed at consumers is being brought together on a single website, www.eatwell.gov.uk

The website, which has been maintained thus far by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), will provide all the government’s advice on food safety, healthy eating and other consumer food choice matters, as well as focus on environmental and wider sustainability issues as they pertain to food.

The FSA will work closely with other government departments and bodies over the coming year to gather up-to-date information to launch the remodelled website in spring next year.

The decision to expand eatwell.gov.uk comes after the completion of the first stage of an integrated advice for consumers project and the publication of Food 2030, in which government pledged to provide and integrate source of government information and advice for consumers about the impact of the food they choose to eat.
