Fruit Logistica will host seven national exhibits at its show in February to celebrate the upsurge in exhibitors from Central and Eastern Europe.

Organisers said that a growing number of EU and non-EU member states for Central and Eastern Europe are taking advantage of the show to present their products, network and generate new business.

The countries celebrated will include Hungary, Georgia, Poland, Russia, the Ukraine, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic.

According to the organisation, the industry is booming in all these countries: in Hungary, around 800,000 to 850,000 tonnes of fruit are produced each year, around 20 percent of which is exported, in the Ukraine, a fruit company generated $127 million last year, and Poland produced over 2.1 million apples last year.

This is our most important trade show - beyond compare with any other event," said Denys Podkovyrov of the Ukrainian Fruit Company.
