Driscoll’s of Europe is expecting its first Dutch strawberries grown under glass within the next two weeks.
Driscoll’s trademarked variety Lusa. Growers have reported good yields of the fruit, which is characterised by large size and a light red colour.
As well as being a high-yielder and early-starter, Lusa continuers to fruit until the beginning of July without steep production peaks and does not require artificial lighting.
It also has a high percentage of class I grade-out, Driscoll’s of Europe reports.
