The so-called “earliest cherries in the western world” from Catalonia were presented for the first time in Berlin.

Supplier S.A.T. EDOA starts shipping its Glamour cherries in early March, at least six weeks ahead of the competition.

The dark red fruit, which has brix levels from 18-24 and sizes from 28-32 mm, these dark-red, command prices of EUR 80 per kilo at the beginning of the season from exclusive retailers, including the upmarket department store Harrods.

Justo Torralba, head of the trade department at the Catalonian export promotion organisation Prodeca, said: “The company sold all its produce at Fruit Logistica on the first day.”
