The departing chief executive of Europe’s leading packaging company, Arie de Bruijn, was decorated with a Royal Honour during his farewell celebration from Euro Pool System International.
The prestigious Dutch Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau was bestowed upon De Bruijn in recognition of his outstanding contribution to society.
Arie de Bruijn has made a great contribution to the standardisation of packaging in Europe in the past 38 years. De Bruijn applied the concept of standardisation not only to packaging itself, but also to the logistic system around it.
De Bruijn worked on packaging to aid significant daily savings for European supermarkets and other supply chain partners and also to considerable advantages for the environment.
Arie de Bruijn was appointed ceo of Euro Pool System International in December 1992. He had been general director of its forerunners VPZ and Quality Pack since 1984. Peter Willems will succeed him.
