Logistics services providers Post-Kogeko, Visbeen and DailyFresh Logistics are planning to make increased use of their collective expertise and experience by promoting joint growth and expanding the scope of their services.
The companies are specialists in refrigerated and frozen food logistics. Frans Denie, Post-Kogeko managing director, said: “The companies complement each other. As a trio we offer a broad package of logistics services ranging from frozen food logistics, with a finely meshed distribution network in the Benelux, right through to chilled transport of fresh produce to and from many European countries.
"In combination, we see more opportunities to implement innovation and offer new logistics solutions in order to create a denser network. As developers of new concepts and the managers and operators of our services, we will be able to offer our customers more added value - something the market is increasingly demanding from us.”
Post-Kogeko and Visbeen have already been co-operating as partners in DailyFresh Logistics since 1998, carrying out daily shipments of fresh produce to the UK and Germany.
In addition, they recently began operating a new intermodal service for refrigerated and frozen shipments from Spain and Portugal to the UK and the Netherlands. The aim is that in replacing a large number of road miles with short-sea connections reduces costs and leads to lower CO2 emissions.
Adrie Visbeen of the Visbeen Transport Group said: “We expect to make increasingly frequent use of intermodal transport in the future by water as well as by rail. We also intend to expand the number of European destinations to enable us to serve our customers on a wider scale.”
